I was told to contact this club about possibly being able to obtain some information about the chesapeake bay area. I will be fishing in the BFL Tournament at the end of June. I will be launching from Elkneck State Park. I have never been to this body of water before and I would appreciate help locating bass. Thanks Jason Stenger

Jason,
I am probably not the expert on the upper Bay, but since no one else is replying to your post, I will give you some advice. Coming out of Elk Neck SP, watch the water where the Elk River meets the Bay, it can get ugly there very easily. That's my boating tip. At the end of June, I would suggest trying the Bohemia River or the Sassafras, which is just below the Elk. Or if you know the way and want to run to the Susquehanna, that can also be a good spot for smallies. But, watch running across the flats at certain tide levels. It's easy to beach your boat. And by the end of June, the Northeast River could be a good bite on the dock posts. Jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and tubes can all be productive at this time. By the end of June the 12 inch minimum length will be back in effect. Good luck!
